How to manage duplicates with Windows uploader app

Using the Smugmug Windows App, if I edit a photo and re-upload it, a duplicate is created on Smugmug. This is not what I want - I always want to replace any duplicates with the new version. However I cannot see a setting in the Windows app to control this. Am I missing something?
