    Photoshop Express and smugmug?
    Andy wrote:
yep. here's where it goes. let's hear from you ear.gif

I am hoping that smugmug gets added to the brand new Photoshop Express online. I love Fotoflexer (which smugmug is attached to) but would love to see smugmug join forces with the new Adobe product on-line.

    Any plans for this, Andy?

    Thanks in advance.

More threads per page in each forum. Currently in this forum there are six stickies, leaving space for 13 threads (strange number to have, 19 threads per page). On the Smugmug support forum there are eight stickies - and I don't always look at the stickies (and I'm not alone as I'm not the only one who missed the square thumbs sticky) .

I'm one of those people that only look at the first page, and as a result sometimes miss interesting things, so how about 25 or even 30 threads per page (or less stickies)?

Size photos in posts display at
There are many times that I would like to see the whole photo that someone has posted on dgrin without scrolling. Is there a way to do so? So many display bigger than my screen.

    Thanks

So how is this possible? You might have a 1024x768 monitor. People might display any size they wish :) We can't *force* a display size on people. I wish I had a better answer for you!

Right. But most folks still display 800px images give or take.

    How right you are! I am on a ThinkPad R60 with a 15in @ 1024 x 768.

I realize they are using different software but what made me think of it is how dpreview handles it. Such as at http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1019&thread=27609580.

Just some food for thought to consider for those of us that run smallmwink.gif

Yes Jane, I have 25,000 posts on Dpreview :) That software is ancient, and designed for 800px wide monitors. Personally I don't like it at all. But that's me.

Thanks for your input though, we really appreciate it!

There are many things I don't like about their's either. BUT, I do like the way I can get a photo to fit. They lose something when you are forced to scroll to see the whole thing. It seems that you guys are expert enough to come up with a way to give us a choice.

But Jane, they *don't* fit :)

They live in a 550px wide forum browser:

Then you click and you get the same size as you get anywhere else :)

All I know is that if I click where it says "Zoom out" above the posted photo it gets smaller and will fit on my screen while some as they first come up if clicked on the get rid of the scroll bar don't.

Is there a way, such as this, to make photos smaller in dgrin? The second post on this page is one that I find myself scrolling to see all of any of the photos at once ihttp://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=75655&page=5. I am very new to Firefox and can't find a way to do it to dgrin posts there either.

    Thanks Jane

No, that changes the number of posts per page within a thread. Someone on your side has to change the number of threads per page in each forum.

    Yeah Al.
I thought she was asking about posts per thread on a page.

    Suggestion for Forum Enhancement
While we are logged in, it would be nice that we could click on our user name in the right hand corner and navigate to all posts we have instead of going to advance search and entering our user name and then hitting enter.

    Saves a few keystrokes.

Just a suggestion. Or at least maybe have a selection "My threads" so we can easily find them.

    Hi Mark,

You might want to check out the Quick Links dropdown box on the main navigation bar. It has an option for "My subscribed threads." As long as your preferences are set up to automatically subscribe to threads when you post, I think this comes pretty close to what you want.

Also, if you click on "Quick Links" on the navbar, then down to "My Profile" (NOT "edit profile") and click on it.

Then on the left, you'll see a link that says "Find all posts by mchapma"

    It looks like this:

    It's even easier.

Just click on your name in your post, and choose Find More Posts.

    Suggestion
Shazam's Flash Slideshow thread has over 300 pages, thousands of posts, and countless sub-topics over a period of a year.

Please consider making a seperate category for "Customizations" (apart from "Support") with several topics, including "Slide Shows".

Customization is quite a broad area with over 93,000 posts in that topic - more than any other. Making it a seperate Category with various sub-topics would make finding our answers much easier.

    Thanks,

    Tom Scott

Here's a script that integrates into firefox to link EXIF data. Making a feature like this site-wide would save a lot of headache come judging time...

    Search subscribed threads
I with there was a method for searching withing subscribed threads. For example, I'm pretty sure I posted a thread to the camera forum a while back with a camera/lens question but now have 20 pages of subscribed threads to look at in order to find that thread. A search box added to the subscriptions page would be appreciated.

There is a search feature. Look just about the list of threads. There is a search menu.

A faster way to search is to use google to do "site:www.dgrin.com [search terms]".

    Thanks Ian,
I actually just did my first 'advanced search' (after 2 years here!) and realized I could search by username and under a specific forum. I was just coming back to delete my post and/or add this as an answer.
