Weekly Assignment #98: Learning The Ropes
For this assignment your primary subject should be a rope, or several of them if you must. Rich texture, gracious curves, intrinsic knots call for very interesting images!
Multiple images OK as long as they are substantially different. Fresh images only, moderate-to-medium post-processing.
Let's learn the ropes!

I found these at the beach today. I never shot ropes before, it's interesting.

Here's what occurred to me, given the daily destruction that goes on here at home:

and for reference:

Shot with my fixed 60mm Nikor macro lens. Fun stuff!

Thank you! Nice rope, I only wish it was more of rope and less of pole...

Over Thanksgiving weekend I went back to Chincoteague Island, VA to shoot a rusted out fishing boat that I had seen over the summer. Got there and they were half-way finished dismantling her. Remembered your rope assignment, so I didn't come away completely empty handed.

Nice ropes! Great BGs, too (yet again, I wish there were more of ropes:-)

Have had this one in mind for a while, but the snow was covering the rope outside.

Nice one, thank you!
I think it would be even better if you crop out the upper part of the image and left only the bottom, with the rope...

I had thought about a tighter crop once I got it online. figured I would see what you thought this way first.
