Fall on Vancouver Island

Hi There!

Just made my annual pilgrimage to our capital city, Victoia, BC, to photograph the wonderful fall colours.

We made stops at the world famous Butchart Gardens to photography the Japanese Gardens as well as the historic Ross Bay Cemetery and Hatley castle (now the home of Royal Roads University).

Hope you enjoy some of the shots, it was a perfect fall day. Sunny with cloudy periods and about 20 degrees celsius (68 degrees fahrenheit)!

Well I hope you enjoyed my images and maybe make your way to our part of the world sometime!

Feedback is always welcomed!

Thanks for the kind comments all. I'm just starting to understand the difference between light and GOOD light and the first seven were taken the earliest in the morning with the sun just coming up.

is there ever a time when Vancouver doesn't look beautiful? i'm so freaking jealous of BC's natural beauty.

LOVE every single shot. really nicely captured and composed.

Hey that's my school!!!! Thanks for posting this Brad! I only got to see it during residences in August, so I missed out on the fall foliage! Your photos are so nice - I love the bamboo fountain at Butchart Gardens, and I'm pretty certain I took almost the exact same shot over on Granville Island. The peacock is a great shot too - I was enthralled with them when I was there!

I just checked out a bunch of your galleries...WoW!! Great photos!

Thanks,
Jen

I don't know how I missed this thread, but everything looks so picturesque! It's hard to pick a favorite, but your second shot with the lily pads and waterfalls might be it for me. Wow, and thank you for sharing the colors with us!

Fantastic series! I might have to make a side trip to Victoria from Seattle next autumn if they let me cross the border
