smugmug - proofing but no printing?
I was wondering if anyone knows if a smugmug account can be set up to take an order from a customer, take payment and to send the order details to the photographer to fulfill, for those photographers that like quality control?

Hi,
It's not possible to fulfill your own orders by using the SmugMug shopping cart, as every order that goes through the shopping cart, is printed by one of SmugMug's printing labs. You would need to block printing in your galleries and add an alternate form of customer payment to your site if you'd like to fulfill your own orders: http://help.smugmug.com/customer/por...kout-or-paypal . If you're considering to fulfill the orders via SmugMug, but you would like to have more control over your customer's order, it's possible to set up a proof delay period to review the order before it hits the lab and/or get your customer's order shipped to you first. You can find more information about both features here: http://help.smugmug.com/customer/por...ustomer-order- http://help.smugmug.com/customer/por...sonal-delivery I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any questions, you can always contact us directly as well http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/emails/new :)

Thanks for the info! I was hoping to check the prints out before they got mailed to the customer. :)
One concern I have is I dont want to upload a 3.5x5 version, 5x7 version, 8x10 version, 11x14 version, 16x20 version and 20x24 version of the same file. Plus isnt there a way to get around the watermarking and get the clean version which will reduce the sales? Or has that been fixed? |

I would recommend uploading of photos that are not cropped to a specific print size. The customer can then use the crop tool in the shopping cart to adjust the crop if needed for the size they select. If you enable our proof delay feature, you can even adjust the crop before the order goes to the lab.
Watermarks applied via SmugMug are on each display size of a photo. Only the original of your photo wouldn't be watermarked, but unless you allow visitors access to your original photo (by setting 'largest size' to original in the gallery settings), they won't be able to access an unwatermarked version of the photo. For additional information on watermarking, you can go here.

I believe you can have the order mailed to you and you deliver it to the customer.
