Tutorials

Ever find yourself wondering just how someone managed to create an image using different effects?

Here are three simple tutorials we hope will encourage you to try something new.

The Hot Seat

A lifelong interest in landscape photography has led Eyal Oren to make a study of his adopted hometown of Marblehead, MA. As you can see, his dedication is paying off!

Thanks BD. I will try to improve it. On my screen the details are very visible, but when I look at this on another screen, they are not...

Very good first and continuing impression of this. Like the light/shadow composition. One wish is that the cat had eyes open...

Let's see if this works better.

I also would have liked for the cat to have its eyes open, but it was basking in the sun...

I need some help, on my monitor now the image is bright, but on my tablet it looks like what I originally had wanted it to look. How can I adjust this? I have tried some basic monitor calibration, but I find that the biggest problem is when I have tough shadows to deal with, like on this photo...

Accused Shill.
I will be the odd man out and say I like the original better-- more of a mystery over what the cat was guarding.

Maybe something in between. As I said I'm having trouble understanding what people are seeing versus what I see on my screen... Let's try this
