108 - h2o colorado style?
I took this a few minutes ago.. does this work as a "water" photo or is the fact that the cairn is of interest detract form the h2o theme?

I'm a rookie; feedback appreciated.

Oooh, I like the second better! It is not as strong on theme as some, but it could work.

I like the 2nd one better - that rock looks pretty precariously balanced!

Water is such a hard thing to make the main subject, I think this works pretty well.

Agree #2 is the best. Just wondering if the water could also be in the foreground, so the cairn is surrounded by water to help make stronger on theme.

Accused Shill.
Or try splashing the rocks with some water.

It would be great to see this surrounded by water....

this second shot is definitely stronger on the "Water" theme. I like the composition of the first one a bit better, but for this competition I'd probably go with choice #2. The only thing is the large rock is missing just the tip, which seems odd. If this is cropped I'd include just a bit more, otherwise I'd crop it down a little so there's more cut off.. just what I'd do.

These shots make me want to go hiking again. Too bad this record heat is keeping me indoors. That and renovations. Ugh.

P.S. I think you're "on the right path" with this one! That's what I'd call it!
