Spicing Things Up
So many insects in this subforum! Let's take a break for a second. Here's a 3-shot commissioned work that I did for someone's kitchen. Each shot is done with macro coupling and focus-stacking of dozens of exposures. The stacking software I used was Zerene Stacker, which I found to be much better at the task than Photoshop. It's still not perfect, though; at 9x magnification, the depth of field is so small that even the best software will have trouble with fuzzy borders and such. Zerene Stacker seems to replace any troublesome areas with hard edges, which I think gives a better result than leaving the fuzziness in there like Photoshop does.

I don't expect it will be too hard, but... who wants to guess what these are pictures of?

Stacks look good- guess the first one is salt not sure about the others althunless they are spicing mixtures which include salt.

You pretty much got it. Salt cubes and pepper flakes.

Thanks!
