Sharpening workflow advice needed
I'm considering joining SmugMug with BayPhoto as my lab of choice. I had a question regarding sharpening workflow and was hoping that someone can chime in with some advice.

Will the following work to give high-quality (if not the highest quality) results:

1. I up-sample my adjusted but un-sharpened image to the highest resolution that SmugMug offers.

2. Then I put the up-sampled image through Nik's Sharpener Pro and sharpen it to my liking.

3. Then submit this sharpened image to SmugMug and let BayPhoto take care of down-sampling to meet the target size upon order.

Also, what PPI would I use to get the highest quality results? I was considering 600/720 PPI – any thoughts?

Thanks!

Hello,

A 240 ppi resolution file is what the labs recommends and all that is needed. You may feel the need to sharpen differently for the print size ordered. Make use of our proof and retouch feature for the ability to edit and replace images in the order. See the following link.
