I had followed a thread to set up a duplicate homepage for my events so my clients can easily track down their event and view their photos. I like to password protect them so it isn't open to the general public. However, I found the default thumbnail displaying for the event. I know you can feature a photo for a protected gallery, but I'm not sure how to feature a photo for an event.

Any help is greatly appreciated. My site is at http://devinhuntphotography.com under the client photos link in the navbar.

Even though the gallery is password protected you can set a feature thumb.
Go to the photo then click
tools > this photo > more > feature

Thanks Al. I tried that but it didn't seem to work. I think the difference is that this is not a gallery but an event, which could have multiple galleries associated with it.

With the events, there isn't a way to set the thumbnails for those if they are protected like you can with a gallery

Pardon my stupidity - but what is the difference between a gallery and an event???

The gallery is what holds the photos. An event is what you can set up to market a group of galleries:

Eric -THANKS! I learned something new today:) I didn't know about the Event feature.... well.. I am not selling photos... how would I know:)

On a pure technical side - is the Event feature basically equivalent to a special Category and all the albums are grouped under that category?

It's sort of an advanced sharegroup.

You can set the thumbnail for all the passworded galleries in a sharegroup.
