Space Shuttle Flyover
The Space Shuttle Endeavour flew its last flight over the SF Bay area today, on its last flight to be moth-balled forever in a museum in LA.

Pretty darn exciting thing to see actually.

Cheers,

Thanks very much, Randy. There were 20,000 people at Moffet Field for this event that was handled like a big festival. Major press and TV coverage, vendor booths, etc. You can imagine the traffic mess especially combined with standard Silicon Valley rush hour. I had things to do this morning so I took my motorcycle and got in and out on a mission that would have made Navy Seals proud.

(just added a few more pics)

Nice shots, Joel. I never get jaded to seeing this kind of stuff. I've seen all the space shuttles take off at one time or another....every one was exciting ( or extremely sad...Challenger ).

Very nice shots

Here (Houston) the shuttle was delayed because of weather and came in 2 days later than scheduled , so it only staid for one day and the traffic was HORRIFIC !

Beautiful! That first shot looks eerily similar to one I took at Griffith today!

Highly detailed shots, and ones that really high-lite the thing that amazes me about this system; the relatively small attachment points of the shuttle - looks like it could snap right off.
Nice work.
