Howto embed a video for windows 8/IE10
Hi,

I embed videos with the following snippet:
Quote:
<iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="425" height="240" src="http://api.smugmug.com/services/embed/MyMOVIE?width=425&height=240"></iframe>
This works with the regular desktop browser, but in IE10(Windows 8) it looks like this:

The reason is that there is no flash in IE10.

How can i set the video to be played as html5 instead of flash?

As far as I know, IE10 is not released as a final version yet. We don't support test or pre-release versions of browsers and operating systems. Until IE10 is final, I would suggest that you use IE9 or any other supported browser / system instead.

Have a look:

IE10 is already released.

I wonder why Microsoft is not offering it to me on Windows 7 yet? The Wikipedia page you link to, shows the final out for Windows 8 and Server only. And Windows 8 is only scheduled for release the end of October according to Wikipedia.

That said, from what I can tell the issue is that you don't have Flash installed. Our video player uses Flash on desktop computers. Only on mobile devices that do not support flash, we offer a html5 option.
Once you install Flash, the video should play.

afaik IE10 as well as windows8 are already released. But they will be shipped with new hardware not until 25. of october.

Beside this. IE 10 will come only with part-flash support. Flash will only work for big sites like youtube. On all other sites, flash will just not work in ie 10.
Have a look at this blog entry from microsoft: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2...m-preview.aspx

just to be clear. I'm talking only about the metro version of IE10, not of the desktop version where everything is working fine.
