Like the composition …esp in #2…

(in #1 the face is too near the edge of the frame, and my attention keeps falling out of the picture… eek7.gif )

I might bring the shadows up v. slightly in #2…

(even at the expense of the highlights… …although if this was a print, then I'd use a slightly softer paper!)

    Thanks for sharing…

    Benjamin,
I like #2--it's so stark and dreary and everyday.

I agree with Wil's critique. I enjoyd both shots. It's good to see everyday realism in these shots. Cheers.

I think #2 has a ton of potential. Not sure what the original shot looked like, but I'd revisit the conversion as well as the framing in the square crop. Nice.

    Thanks Folks
will take a look at your suggestions.

Will can't crop less, she was carrying a big white plastic bag !!
Besides it was an image of light and pots and she's a walk on :D

the second shot to me is all about the varied contrasts in the image.
So bringing up shadows might change that ne_nau.gif

I really like #2 but I want to see a little more detail in the face on the right--maybe just dodge the eyes a bit ne_nau.gif.

You definitely don't want to cut someone's face off as you did in #1. But #2, especially with edits, is excellent. It really tells a story, whereas the first shot doesn't say anything to me.
