    Hello Jenn,
    When I opened this up I expected to see the same essential scene, day version/night version.

    Out of the two, I really like the night shot. Love how it's all dark except for the red neon and the tiny open door into her world.

    Speaking of night shots :)

    1) Sorry, I don't find anything interesting about this shot.

    2) Outstanding capture. The two women in action, the cyclist turning her head, provide stories here. Might seem like a candidate for crop, but my suggestion would be to keep this as-is, to preserve the scene.

    Funny how opinions work... I like #1 but dont' like #2 as much. #1 gives the feeling of non-trust, the tentative look and body language of the lady perfectly complements the scene.

    By the way, Night/Day would be a great theme for a contest! :)

    I prefer the first one. The color certainly works here. The second seems a bit washed out and I wonder if it wouldn't be better in B&W.

    I love #1 - so evocative - wonderful in color

    I like #2 as well. I don't mind that the lady on the bicycle is looking to her left (though not at you, is she?), but wish that she were just a tad further along so we could see what is going on with the two folks on the sidewalk.

    Really enjoy the first with the contrast between the red light business (tattoo parlor, no less) with the "housewife" carrying on with the mundane business of living side by side (top/bottom?) in this neighborhood.

    The night shot is wonderful--details emerging from the darkness and great color.

    The day shot doesn't work as well for me. I don't mind the direction of the cyclist's head so much as the bicycle blocking one of the women at the right. What's the story there? Are they fighting or is one helping the other walk? For me, it's the most interesting part of the capture. I am somewhat distracted by the red jacket on the left as well. Crop it? ne_nau.gif
