I have been wanting to post this image for a very long time. I could not locate the images from the first half of my trip to Corsica last year. Many searches failed to locate them.

Yesterday I found them. They were in three batches (not how they were shot) on a card with later images. What had happened was that I edited the images, deleting some from the card. The camera then re-used the file numbers for new images, thus breaking up the original sequence.

This individual was found amongst rocks used as a boundary to the car park of our second hotel, in central Corsica. It dropped to the ground, where there was lots of crumbly, brownish, semi-decayed plant material, such that the spider was very difficult to see. This was a little more helpful, when it climbed onto a twig. Its tiny size (ca 4mm?) made it all the more difficult. All I got was this one good image, cropped by about 50%.

EM-1, Kiron 105mm, probably f11, 1/250 ISO 400, TTL flash, hand-held.
