I had found some large damselflies over land, rather than out over the adjacent river and returned with my Olympus 4/3 70-300mm. I don't like using AF lenses but this one had given me some good results with butterflies and the long working distance was especially welcome with subjects which are easily put to flight.

I couldn't resist this sun-basking spider as a brief diversion from my stated purpose.

EM-1, Olympus ED 4/3 70-300mm at 300mm, 1/125 at f10, ISO 400, hand-held, AF used.

The image is slightly cropped for composition.
