The dreaded (and fun if you kids or grandkids) is almost here.

Took this to illustrate use of spot meter to camera club members and some fun LR post processing.

Comments, criticisms and conclusions always appreciated.

Now that's a type of photo I've not seen before. Love the deep shadows.

Thanks for comments - "spooky", "ditto" and "deep shadows".

Here are basic camera settings: Ap Priority, f/22, 1/200s, spot meter, Exp Comp -1.0, ISO 200.
Post processing in LR - key is Color - Up saturation some and luminance a lot on red, yellow and orange. No saturation or luminance on blue (sky). Play with contrast, brightness and more.

    No PS work to it.

Taken at 2:30pm, very clear day and bright sun. Focus on tree at intersection of tree and sun.

    Fun

Thanks for sharing that EXIF info Phil! Looks like choking of the ambient was key as bright areas were gonna show up no matter what! Certainly creative and making something amazing out of nothing! Cheers!

Holy crap. It wasn't until after I read your exif details that I realized the moon wouldn't be bright enough to light up the leaves like that. WELL DONE!! Way to feed us our perspective!

    Thanks much.

I have trying to figure out how to a create a ghost like image to layer into the above. Searching the web for an idea and how - to.

Thank you. I am planning on submitting this to a camera club open competition and naming it "Spooky".
