Here are three simple tutorials we hope will encourage you to try something new.

The Hot Seat

A lifelong interest in landscape photography has led Eyal Oren to make a study of his adopted hometown of Marblehead, MA. As you can see, his dedication is paying off!

I realize this is my first post so this is with some apologies for being a bit brash. I've just purchased a new D5100 and have been lurking quietly for a while now. I promise to do a proper introduction later this weekend (and ask some "hopefully" intelligent questions). As far as the photo, this goes back a few years and was taken with an old Olympus general use 5mp camera I no longer own. I have the original at home and will update with specific settings etc when I can get to the exif info. thx

Hi superduckz,

I feel a bit of a fraud being such a newbie myself, but just thought I’d say “welcome”… and also to AlxCar and TravelnLass who I think are also relative newcomers.

It’s not compulsory to add shooting info and most people don’t, so don’t feel you have to.
Personally I always appreciate knowing a little more on technical shots.

Hope to see more of your photos going forward.
Alan.

Am I correct that it is HDR and the blades are from the multiple shots? If so, great idea!

Alan.
Yes, yes, big WELCOME superduckz (and mighty nice entries!)

And thanks too, to Alan for the welcome - but of course after the confounding "thumbnail" fiasco, why I feel that we've been pals since childhood. ;)

Truly some stunning entries here - I'm humbled to be mingling among such remarkable talent!

I love the enthusiasm on this round and there are some really great pictures from everyone, but just a gentle reminder – as I’ve previously said in this thread, if you submit more than 3 images as allowed by the rules of the competition, then I’ll only consider the first three.

The rules are listed in the first posting on this thread – sorry, I didn’t make the rules.

This was done with the in Camera Multiple shots Nikon D300 I was not going for HDR but trying to capture motion on early DSS challenge. I cant remember but I am pretty sure it was all the same exposure 4 frames combined and punched up contrast and saturation
