Airplanes after Dark

I think those of you who have seen my work know I'm a sucker for a good night shot, and if you add airplanes to the mix, well, stand back! Charlotte opened a new parking deck next to the terminal, and it offers some great new views of the action.

5 - Thunderstorms in Atlanta meant a rare treat for Charlotte spotters - this British Airways Boeing 777 diverted into Charlotte Friday night on a flight from London to wait out the weather. After about two hours, they finished their trip to Atlanta.

6 - US Airways A330, now wearing American colors, leaves the terminal with the Charlotte skyline in the distance.

    Wow, love all these! In #1 is my favorite, as the predominant color in the scene mimics the airline name, Jet BLUE. Very nice!!

    Wow - I love airplanes (any machine really) and these shots at night really enhance their mystique. Great shots all of them - Rush Hour is my fav.

    Thanks, folks, I really appreciate it! Fortunately, it doesn't cost much to park up there, and law enforcement is friendly. On a few of these, especially the "rush hour" shot, the timing worked out right - Charlotte is one of those hubs where nothing moves for 20 minutes, then everything tries to leave at the same time, and you end up with a line waiting for departure, resulting in aircraft sitting still for 30 or 60 seconds.
