Before I give you the "long" story, I want to ask that you please comment, constructive, picky criticism is fine.. BE HONEST... we can take it!

So for anyone that doesn't know, we are wedding photogs (also sports, automotive, and music-related). What we are NOT, are "Street" photogs. yes our wedding stuff is 80% PJ but that's much different than "street" PJ.

So today we decided to stretch our boundries.. I had a quick idea of getting pics of people playing (losing) on slots - with the intention to get people who look like maybe they can't afford to be playing and/or looks like they are losing.

All the shots are "from the hip" (by necessity since you're not supposed to take pics in casinos!) and only 1 of these shots has been cropped at all. The only editing is the b/w conversion.

(edit) Not sure why EXIF isn't working... it's on the files but not showing up here on the forum?) I also left all the EXIF on them so you can see how difficult it was to get relatively properly-exposed shots with no flash... hence the high ISO, low shutter speeds (and the camera blur).

So any comments?

i like shot nr#3 and the idea about a casino-serie.
i think it could be interesting.
the part about people losing dont come across very strong here and
i dont get a feeling that they cant afford a slot-machine either.

instead i can see this evolving into a not-so-static theme, more like pj maby
on good and bad, win and loose, the "casino-life"

to pursue the loosing-idea, i think you either want to overdo and stage something,
or spend a full year in a casino with a button-hole-camera try capture the
    real and true loosing-moments.

    on a more technical comment i would say it's a bit flat-looking,
maby up the contrast a bit.

its a nice idea and i actually would like to see both a loosing-serie and a casinolife-serie,
if you put some love and time into this, it could be fantastic.

They seem a little bit too soft/out of focus, agreed with the above about not that much emotions in the photos.

I really like number 1 cause woman's face is pretty sad and the way she reaches for more money is capturing attention.

    Hi there,
I agree with Tortilla and Saikano's input.

Out of all the images, I also like number one--The older lady who seems to be there alone (like so many are) reaching for more money in contrast with the young woman laughin in the background accompanied by a man and having a good ole time.
