Mac S/W for photo stitching

I've got 3 overlapping scans of a wide document that I need to stitch/merge together. I'd use Photoshop but my CS5 copy no longer runs and I don't have a creative cloud license. What should I use? Affinity Photo won't do this. Thanks.

Do you have the new version of Lightroom? It does a pretty decent job. I'm afraid I don't know much about the Mac software world. If you can give me access to the originals, I'd be glad to stitch them and send you the result. PM me if interested.

No lightroom for me. I'm using Aperture until it dies, will move to Photos for OS-X once its reasonably feature-rich. I will take you up on your offer Richard if I can't find a solution for me to do it myself. Thanks!

Well if you are willing to do some "hand stitching" you could use GIMP - it is freeware has much of the functionality that you might know from Photoshop and runs on a Mac as good as on Windows or Linux :)

Turns out I was able to manually merge them in Affinity Photo after all. My friend did an excellent job with aligning the scans, so I didn't have to do slight rotations or anything. Just literally drop the two scans on top of each other and move one side to side until it meshed with the other. I still invision a time I'll need stitching s/w in the future for times when things need more complicated stitching, but for now, crisis averted. :)

Need a bump on this. Will have another need for this software in a week or so and this time Affinity Photo and doing the merging manually probably will not work. Will likely have a dozen or so overlapping images that I need stitched into one larger image. I will be very careful with camera alignment and keeping the focal length from getting too wide so that I don't introduce keystoning and other assorted geometric errors in the images. Might have close to 30 images come to think of it.

Google shows a number of free panorama utilities for Mac. Have you tried any of them?

I've downloaded that as well, and looking at the PhotoStitch from the Mac App Store as well. Might be as long as 10 days before I can capture the photos I need to stitch but I have some options! Not sure yet if I need just a line of photos to stitch, or a matrix of photos to stitch. If just a simple line then I have some Olympus software that will also stitch for me.
