I am considering posting this image at our local camera club public showing in May.

I plan on printing it 16x20 inches.

This is the first time I grouped images like this especially with the shadow effect.

Appreciate your opinion.

Phil

    Thank you, thank you!

Morning light is important for these types of flowers first of all.

I often used a fairly long lens to blur the background, but not always. More often now I use manual exposure.

And this year I am going to use a color card.

    Just a few tips.

    Take care, Phil

That helps me a lot! Reason being that I have tried but not been able to get diffusion under control with flash. So I bypassed flash all together and went during daylight just controlling exposure. However that gentle highlights and light that you have, very hard to create. So once again we are limited to soft light......fortunately there is a park in my area that doesn't have sunrise-to-sunset rule so I can start early and hike to area where wild-flowers are....and hopefully get help from light!

    Thanks Phil!

Phil, these are excellent. I love the lighting on all four shots.

Gorgeous set, Phil. I really like the shadow effect - it adds depth and a little drama.
