A saguaro

I don't seem to get tired of photographing these. I'd prefer to avoid portrait orientation, but saguaros force you into it.

    I always love seeing your images of the saguaros. Great light and composition. thumb.gifthumb

    I see these large cacti every time I go to Sedona, on the drive up from the airport. One of these trips I am going to have to schedule some time in the Black Canyon area to try and capture some images of these grand cactus.

    Phil, do it! There are some great stands of saguaro around Black Canyon, although getting to them can be a task.

    Love the black sky and the white cactus. Very nice.

    What's the deal against portrait perspective images? - I know there are bloggers on the web who say all images should be landscape these days, and that everything will be video only formats, but I still find a lot of my images that I cannot force into landscape modes - they just look better in portrait mode. Call me old fashioned I guess. I really doubt the printed page is going the way of dinosaurs any time soon.

    Wayne, thanks very much.

    Pathfinder, the computer just isn't friendly to portrait orientation, and that's where most images have most of their lives these days. And when I frame some for the walls, landscape orientation always fits in better. But some vertical subjects won't play ball.
