I was trying to shoot a mint moth when something small and green flew in and landed on some mint. A quick glance and I decided it was a shieldbug but one I had not seen before (I didn't have my glasses on as I was using the camera). A slightly closer look and it seemed not to have a head - very strange. It was only when I got the camera onto it, I got a clear view and realised it was a tortoise beetle, the first I had ever seen.
Later ID'd it as a thistle tortoise beetle.
All shots focus stacked using zerene.
