    Is that the same Oak Creek (Canyon?) near Sedona? If so, how has the area recovered after the fires?

    Same canyon, David. The fire affected only a very small area. Most of the canyon is fine.

    The first image leaves me wanting. The red and green work well together, but there doesn't seem to be a comfortable flow through the image. I either get stuck in the pool on the left looking for more, or stuck in the details of the big rock on the right. The stream pulls me to the top of the image but there isn't much there to hold my attention.

    The 2nd images is great. I love the saturated colors of red and green working together, the detail in the rocks and the bit of tension created by the diagonal line of the plants and fissures in the rocks.

    #3 is a really nice image also. I like the grasses in the lower right as a foreground element, but I would like to see the base of these grasses. the pines at the back work as a great border and the dark clouds compliment the yellow flowers up front. If it were me I would remove the horizontal line of the road.

    Hopefully this isn't more critique than you were looking for. I have found that by critiquing the work of others I am more aware when composing in the field.

    Phil, thank you. I genuinely appreciate criticism and I'll give some thought to your suggestions.

    That line in the last one isn't a road--I think it's a band of foliage.
