Son is 8 now and is taking after me, bought him a new bike start of the season, a Toys R Us Avigo brand BMX bike to ride. Expected the bike to last the season, and if lucky hand it down to my younger son.
Well last week discovered my son tore apart the bearings in the front hub and had to retire the bike, well actually I took an old 18" wheel and stuck it on his 20" bike, removing the front brakes. Good enough to let him ride to school, but not good enough...

So spent all week learning BMX and looking through Kijiji to find a bike.

Found a couple bikes, researched online to find out what they really were, amazing how many people buy mid grade BMX bikes and have no idea what they really have.

Decided on a Hoffman Bikes Mantra and my son loves it, even though he fell 3 times on it so far, and it is only day old here :)

Boring overall shot of bike, leaning against the broken wheel from his last bike.

And of course since I recently got extension tubes and just Friday got my ringflasg I had to do some details.

A touch of rust for the rust fans.

The seat, I just love this shot because of the texture of the fabric and stitching. I am loving my extension tubes.
