Airshow: Planes on the ground

The 2015 airshow at DeKalb Peachtree Airport (PDK) brought plenty of historic planes to the tarmac. Here are some highlights! All shot with Canon 70 D with Sigma 50-150 f/2.8 OS which was the only lens I brought--so I went for a "part for whole" approach. I'm always so impressed by the power of these machines, and the determination they represent. As always I welcome your comments and suggestions. --Carter

Thanks! I also love the reflection in the nose of #3; it may be my fav of the series. The funny thing is...I didn't even recognize the reflections until I started working on it in post. At the time of the shot, I was just going for the overall shape and size of the plane, and the composition showing just the nose out of context. Kind of a pardoxical "part for whole". But in post I saw the reflections. So I reduced exposure on the plane, and increased exposure on the sky in the upper corners, to punch the reflections. I appreciate your helpful comments very much!

Speaking of reflections...when you have a nice shiny spinner like the plane in #5, you need a selfie - just about every air show photographer has one, or more, of these. Bonus points if something cool, like a B-24 and B-25 are in the background!
