Is it me or man's face seems a little bit out of focus or overexposed? Nice shot anyway

I like the composition. I agree that a drop in exposure would be beneficial - pump up the contrast.

Thanks for the comments, guys. The original wasn't over-exposed, but the processing gave me more grief than usual. Here's a reworked, darker version:

    Better?

Yeah, it is a bit annoying. It would be easy enough to eliminate, but then BD would get on my case. lol3.gif

Thanks Ben. I prefer it too--not sure what I was thinking originally headscratch.gif.

B.D. Colen is our artist in residence (see link at the top of the forum). He has some rather strong opinions about cloning and Photoshop shenanigans in general. Stick around--you'll see for yourself. deal.gif

I think the 2nd one is too dark (lost all the texture of the case lining) - perhaps ½ stop would have been OK… (or ¼ even…)

I actually like the first one better as it is a better effect for the lighting and composition. In the first I see the musician, his shadow, and the other person (and also the verticals with the whites and shadows). In the second, you lose the person in the shadows and the textures in the shadows (and the blotch on the column) start to compete for attention. (This is one of the few where I come out in support of blown highlights...)

Hmm...I like the guy in the shadow and don't want to lose him. I'll have to revisit this one some time in the future. Thanks for the feedback. thumb.gif
