My wife and I were in South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana this past September and visited most of the same places you did. Looks like you had clear skies a good bit of the time. In September it was very hazy from the dust, a result of a terrible 2+ - year drought.
When we were at Dead Vlei the temperature was over 100F; looks like it was cool for you.
