Two day project to capture Paschal candles from four area churches, plus a unity candle.

Then process, select best images, layer, and feather edges.

Voila!

Comments please. Different ideas about layout welcome.

    Love these shots Phil!!clap.gif
Would love to see them individually and big!
I don't know how to do it, but as soon as I see candles, one thought of arrangement that comes to mind is Menorah? This particular setup is bit too simple for me....

Also, the one on bottom left is fantastic, but if mine, I would crop it to look like one on top right:D
Lose the table....and make it about cross, candle and the shadow! JMO!

    Keep em coming!!

Thanks so much for your detailed response.
Larger individual images below. One thing I would do different in the future is take two shots per image - one of the background and one of the candle and then layer them.

Lighting is key - low light on the candles to see the flame. Used remote flash on the floor to highlight body of candle and sometimes a remote flash for background.

I checked out Menorah - I could envision something along those lines. Sleep on that.

Lower left image - I removed a fair amount already - will clone out altar soon.

This one is a composite - Crucifix layered onto to candle image.

This was the candle that I could not relocate, which I did for the other three shots.

Love it! Your mastery of PS is great to see! In my view, now eyes naturally scan through the images and the center candle is like lighting it up!!

    Thanks much.

Feathering the edges of each image took the most time. I haven't done that before.

Other that it is pretty much layering and using a unusual aspect ratio.

I like the last setup but I would also try to put the 2 Light background in the middle and the 2 dark background on the outside and vice-versa and see witch one is better

Thank you. I hoping it gets used often.

Good idea, would be simple to move them around. Thanks
