One of the great things about the forum is that you find others with the same, um, 'eclectic' tastes as you: schmoo, long before she was a moderator got my attention with her wonderful abandoned, desolete buildings.

Turns out that Aaron (anwmn1) also loves those. But he and I also share another deep passion: Pictures of Dead Trees!

So here it is, the Dead Tree Thread.

To get started, this one was taken in the morning of Sat. Oct 4 at Oak Creek, near Sedona, as we headed out to Moab.

Adam, I know you are out there, so start posting.

This one looks dead but is one of the oldest living organisms on the planet...Captured this at almost 10,000 feet in the White Mountains, CA.

Sam, I love that picture! Absolutely beautiful.

I was confused by the thread title, though. Being an old school computer geek, the first thing that popped into my head was "Why pictures of books?"
