Auto gallery creation when uploading 1000's of JPGs

Hi all,
I want to backup all my JPGs from 2000-2007 - for security reasons
They are all in LR2 if that helps
I'd like to have auto gallery creation happening as I don't want to have to create a 1000 galleries and set each upload individually
Is there any way to do this?
I'm trying to think of the easiest way to get these photos uploaded
They could all be in one Category e.g. Backup
