I have set up my "about me" page as a journal page, and wanted some additional boxes for content, so I uploaded some one-pixel black jpgs to produce extra boxes. This works great, but I can't figure out how to make the pesky little one-pixel white dot in each box (alternating left/right) disappear. I assume that is because even though the image is black, it has a border? But I tried setting imgBorder for that page to none and that didn't work.

  <p class="leftmargin">
I originally studied photography at the University of Iowa School of Art while completing my Ph.D. in English, after which I joined the English Department at Syracuse University. For many years I shot black and white film and developed in my basement. Other interests took me away from photography for a while, but for the past six years I have been more fully engaged, first with digital color and now also again with black and white.<br>
</p>

<p>
My photographs have won awards in regional and national contests, have appeared in group, individual, and juried exhibitions, and have been published internationally in such magazines as National Geographic Traveler, PhotoLife (Canada), MaVista (UK), The Photo Review, Photographic, Shutterbug, Outdoor Photographer, The Best of Photography Annual, f-stop, and Popular Photography.

OK, I changed it following your suggestion, and it works, but what I liked about my way was that it kept the consistent style of the other pages.

Oops, one more thing, how do I get it back larger like it was before and the same as the other journal pages?

I was just playing with the width. Try this to make it as wide as you like.

.gallery_6865845 #journal.journal {
margin: 0 auto;
width: 900px !important;
}

Snuck the <tr valign=top> in this also.

That doesn't seem to work? When logged in, I can see that the older version (still visible) is wider, and using even 1024 in your code doesn't widen the page (I even tried it using all three journal pages code). I did take out (or rather commented out) the other code I was using.

GRRRR, but now I keep getting a "there was a problem updating your settings please try again." I assume this has nothing to do with what I am trying to change and just some Smugmug glitch?

bgates ^OP Big grins Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: USA Posts: 82	a really small (1px) change? I have set up my "about me" page as a journal page, and wanted some additional boxes for content, so I uploaded some one-pixel black jpgs to produce extra boxes. This works great, but I can't figure out how to make the pesky little one-pixel white dot in each box (alternating left/right) disappear. I assume that is because even though the image is black, it has a border?
