Below are some photos I took during the recent NASCAR races at Daytona. Enjoy!

Those are some great shots! I love NASCAR and am a huge Kevin Harvick fan, so I really love that shot of his burnout. Hooray for NASCAR and photography!

Very nice work, Walter! Great timing on Logano smacking the wall. I do think you need to treat yourself to some longer glass before the next race.

I am working on the longer glass. Been thinking about the 300 2.8 IS which would go well with the 1.4x teleconverter. I was using a 70-200 F2.8L IS here with the 1.4x. Daytona is just such a big track and you need so much zoom, other tracks are fine. Thanks for commenting.

That's not a bad set up. I'm using the 100-400L IS, and the far side of Pocono (the point of the triangle) is a bit of a reach, but otherwise I can get some decent shots with it.

Are you guys just spectators and get these shots? I've only been where I've sat behind the fence and that doesn't make for pretty shots.

At the moment I am only a spectator. To get my images I either get good seats or do alot of walking around, I do both at Daytona.

Your #9 is nice, from a person that likes watching nascar, a little dramatic lighting (brighter pp) could help it.

Do you know if there is any limit on the size of lens that you can take into Daytona? I am thinking of going to Daytona this evening for the motocross that they are holding for bike week. I have a Nikon with a 70-200 and also a 300mm. So many venues now put a limit on the size of lens' that you can take in.

I have never had a problem getting my 70-200 F2.8 IS into the track and I have seen other spectators with much larger lenses. You should not have a problem unless the motocross people say something.

Thanks much, I'm going to take both my 70-200 and my 300. I also have a 1.7TC that I'm going to try with them.
