Photographer's agreement for Summer Camp
Hello,
I am currently trying to draft a photographer's agreement for a Summer Camp.

My staff and I will be taking photos for a Summer program, but we want to put in clauses which state that the camp has full rights of the photos...

as well as give the photographer the right to use it in a portfolio situation but not to resell the photo... since we are taking photos of minors, we don't want to take any risk on our part...

Does anyone have anything for Summer camp photographers/ photographs?

you want to grant non-exclusive rights and the photographer retains the copyright and the studio and or photographer retains non commerical rights to the photos for promotional use only.

You need a lawyer to write it up correctly.

I agree with Art. All of your contracts should be written or reviewed with your lawyer.

Here is what I suggest you include:

Grant of license.
Single use, non-exclusive, non-transferable.

Permitted/Prohibited uses.
What they can and cannot do with the images. Be specific.

Copyright.
All photos are copyrighted by your company. Full rights remain with your company.

Indemnification.
Stated clearly how you are not held resposible for claims, liabilities in connection with any breach in agreements.

Credit.
How the clients should give your company credit for the photos

General.
The agreement will be governed by the laws of your state, your company reserves the right to change the agreement in writing at any time.

It needs to be simple, yet the details should be very clear. The agreement that I had drawn up has a place for the client to initial for each point. Then signed at the bottom.

Thanks!

The camp is actually in Japan, but the staff members are non-Japanese speakers.

So it would be better if I find a lawyer in Japan that speaks English, correct?
