Palmer Station, Antarctica: ongoing
Having spent 6 months at Palmer last year, coming back was almost like going home. Only they say "there's no going home", oh how true that is. This is going to be an ongoing thread of my current stay here at Palmer, and about the changes that I'm seeing the ice go through. Global Warming is a fact of life here, no lie, and is a threat to wildlife and the ice itself.
On the way to Palmer I was lucky enough to be able to stop over at Deception Island, which is really the caldera of an active volcano. Our first stop was to Whaler's Bay, home at one point to a whaling station, now home to lots of Fur Seals in the ruins.         Whale remains
