I would like to have a client tab that shows passowrd protected galleries, and do not want them to show in my main galleries tab. This site http://www.davidweissphotos.com/ had it done with a galleries page and a protected galleries page, how do you get the protected gallery items not show in the main gallery? I can't seem to figure this out. All other suggestion about my site will be greatly appreciated. i am new to site building, css and html. Thanks for your input. Here is my site http://www.memorablecaptures.com Oh Yeah, I would also really like to add some drop down buttons if someone would like to help me with that... hahaha
Hi Mike, I can't answer the specific questions above, but I did want to help you out on something I saw in your info and pricing page. You have horizontal rule lines (hr tags) set at width=75% and many are sticking out the right side of your page. Change the "75%" to "auto" and they will adjust themselves to fill the available space inside the box.

Change:
Code:
<hr width="75%" size="4" color="#ffffff"/>
To:
Code:
<hr width="auto" size="4" color="#ffffff"/>

It looks good.

I like the drop down menus. It looks the same in ie7, 8 and firefox. Very clean, fast loading, easy to navigate. Great job.

I like that your site looks NOTHING like a typical smugsite. I was actually curious if the home page even was a smug site. Great job. Nice colors. Good creativity.

Thats where I struggle, is with the creativity portion. My sites are always very bland.

I am using a large screen and resolution so I see lots of black space around the images on your slide show.

I also got confused with the home/services nav. They are on top of each other

I also noticed that your phone number was squished

Thanks for showing me this.
It is not supposed to look like that!
Would you mind telling me what web browser you are using to see it like this and what OS. That may help me narrow down what is causing it.
Because it does not look like that for me.

Its an IE8 thing. I dont think its OS specific, but I am using Windows 2008 R2. I checked it in Firefox and it look ok.

Get this tool. It does pretty good at checking your site in all versions of IE (assuming you have Windows)

I like the color pallet you have chosen for this site however I find the extra large counter at the bottom distracting. I think it is cool to show how many people from other countries have visited your site but the way it laid out on the page causes you to scroll to much to get to the bottom.

Your site is stunning. I love the custom background. I was wondering, when creating a custom background in Photoshop, what is the best size to make it for the website?

James, it could be my internet here at my office, but it seems that the slideshow was slow to load. At first, I thought that you only had a top section and I was about to click away.

You have 3 pictures at the very top, but none of them are links and they don't have any captions below them, so my first thought was wondering what they were for.

Your pctrues are great though. I'm not a fan of the subject, but the pictures are sharp and rich with color.

Love to know your thoughts on my current site and blog...

http://richmarphotography.com/

The blog is brand new so I haven't linked it to my main site yet. Still tweaking a few things... not sure how to fix the messed up formatting in IE.

http://blog.richmarphotography.com/

Don't think I love the black too much and I've been conjuring up a design to switch it over to white.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the kind words. I have had a slide show for years, and just added the stretchy action to it. I also have about 200 hundred shots in it. I think the load time may be affected by the fact that I have 180+ categories on my homepage. I am really looking forward to some heavy duty remodeling work this winter. The three shots at the top are all crashes on the left, my autograph collection in the middle and victory shots on the right that do the random thing like the Dgrin header.

The dual entry homepage is a neat option I would like to explore some more. Glad to see you showing some history from New Orleans. The area I live in (Windsor, ON) doesn't have too much historic scenery, and portraiture is something I wanna learn. It's just that nothing gives me a rush as much as racing and race cars.

Site looks great, I am jealous of all the places you have been and especially the magic light shots. You should try the stretchy galleries to fill up the page. The font may be a little small. I also prefer using the "map channels" syle map over the smugmug map, as it is stretchy as well.
