I can't Upload! Help!
So ever since I have reformatted my computer I have not been able to upload to Smugmug. I am using the same OS (windows 7) and the same install of firefox, but I can not properly upload. When I do upload, the pictures upload but then I get atleast 2 or 3 that get "read time out errors". But the rest of the pictures upload without errors, but are not visible in the gallery! I was able to upload a few the other day and despite the errors, they showed up in the gallery. But now I cannot upload at all.

Another problem? Whenever I open smugmug and try to upload, my internet begins to chug, and a speedtest reveals that I have a 2000+ ms ping. This only happens after I try to upload, as it is a 25 ms ping before that. It stays like this even after I close the window, cancel the upload, close the browser and even stop java. It only fixes after I restart my computer.

At first I thought it was Java, but I removed that and re-installed it to no avail. Then I tried the old school upload and I get the exact same problem, with the clunky internet and no pictures uploading (and it never finishes).

I tried the "upload from desktop" app, and despite it working before my re-install now it will not work. It just says that it stopped working and immediately asks me to quit or send a report.

This is the only problem I have had since my re-install (which I did about 3 weeks ago), and everything else has been fine.

Does anyone have any sort of ideas?

Here is the gallery that I was able to upload into the other day after many attempts, despite errors and problems

and here is the gallery that I am trying to upload into now (although I have tried 5 different galleries)

Hello,
In checking your error log and from what you write, it sounds like your firewall or something may have updated when you reinstalled. Those long ping times are indicative of some sort of blocking. Please contact the Help Desk and let us know which firewall you are using. Also any other details you can recall that have changed, since you were able to upload well.

We'd ask you to reboot, clear your browser's cache and try the Simple uploader again. If you see more connection errors. See if one of the other uploaders will work for you. SmugBrowser and SendToSmugmug are both easy to use and work very well for many.

We look forward to your reply so we can get to the bottom of this.
