Honor Flight
This is going to be a bit long, but I want to explain about what Honor Flight is.

I recently became acquainted with the Honor Flight organization through a man that attends the same photo club as I do. He was looking for photographers to help him out in photo shoots of the vets as they departed Spokane to Washington DC and on their arrival back home. The more I heard, the more interested I became. Honor Flight is a national organization, who's mission is to send WWII veterans to Washington DC to their war memorials. On the front page of their site it says, "HONOR FLIGHT Network is our way of paying a small tribute to those who gave so much—a memorable, safe, and rewarding TOUR of HONOR!!!" Helping to record these trips is by far the most rewarding thing that I have ever done with my camera. These men and women deserve high honor for what they went through for our nation. I was looking at the website and noticed a t shirt. On the back of this shirt it says. "If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in English,, thank a vet". We owe much to these brave men and women!! If you are a vet reading this, I just want to give you my personal thanks for all that you have done. Our country is a better place because of you!!
Here is a link to the national Honor Flight site, http://www.honorflight.org/. Here is a link to our local Honor Flight site, http://inwhonorflight.org/
I also want to add that Southwest airlines donates hundreds of free seats to this endeavor.

Here are a few pics from Honor Flight as the vets arrived at Spokane International before flying to DC.

That is awesome! A journalist should sit on that plane with those guys a get a story from each of them. You could write a book in a trip! What a great organization!

Oh, some great photos in there too! Oh the things those men saw/did way back when! I kinda wish I lived in Spokane. LOL

Thanks ckaspar. I really did have a blast doing this!! The return was even better!! I will have pics of it in a day or so.
They are planning one of these flights per month through November if the donations are good. I can hardly wait to do more. These men and women are my heroes. I love talking with them!
