It might be seem strange for one customizer to add a recommendation here for another, but last week when totally bumfuzzled with how to add a feature to JFriend's amazing new slideshow, I contacted Justin at Fastline. He hopped in and within a short period of time solved the problem and made sure it implemented correctly. Many thanks to Justin.

I just had Melissa from New Skin Media taking care of a couple of stubborn issues with my website and i'd like to recommend her to anyone in need of customizing. She's been a blessing and a pleasure to work with! Swift and friendly communication, fast and efficient when it comes to tweaking, very reasonable in pricing. Thanks so much Melissa! :)

I thought I could do my own website and so I went to a popular DIY webpage company and made one myself. It was ok.
I'm not a complete newbie at html so I thought I did pretty good. Then, as my business grew, I needed more options and eventually found Smugmug. I got the Pro site, personalized it as best I could and linked it off my intuit site. It was ok, but I just hated that the sites weren't seamless, going from one to the other, and paying for 2 sites is not ideal. Who wants to do that? Then one day, I happened across another photogs site, her name is Darby M, and it was clean and fresh and nice... and a Smugmug site! I immediately hated my website. I emailed Darby and asked her how the heck she did it! And she told me about Melissa Crain, at New Skin Media. I contacted Melissa and after a few short weeks, her and her team (Shelby Munsch & Samantha Kraesig) transformed my Smugmug into a site that is way better than Darby's! (just kidding) NOT. My new page is pretty fricken fantastic!!! Working with Melissa & her team @ New Skin Media was so easy . I wish I had found her a year ago! |

Thank you for posting the links to get help with customization. I checked them all out and I was impressed with each of them. However, I selected NV Desert Design to create the look I wanted. Kathy was great to work with and even completed the job a head of schedule. I now have exactly what I wanted, and it's easy for me to maintain the site.

If that is the case, how much of the code is html? I am fairly proficient with that (as evidenced by a page I am tearing down when I move my url to my new Smugmug Pro account). But, I am lost with the CSS. How much more do skins cost? Quote:
Thank you to any and all who answer. LOGO QUESTION for any and all: I know the font and wording I would like to have as a logo. However, when I make one myself the font is jaggedy. Obviously I am doing something wrong. I noticed a few of you offer logo services. What is the starting price for a transparent word only logo? You can PM me if you prefer.

Not all of the customizers offer Templates, and those that do handle the implementation a little bit differently. We just launched some ourselves. (link is below). Basically how it works is the Skin act exactly how the name describes, it wraps around the already existing functionality of SmugMug. Therefore, you will be able add and update images to your galleries easily any time you want without any assistance from us or the company you hire to build your site for you. The only time you need to maneuver around HTML is if you want to make changes to your content pages (like your about or bio page, etc). I hope that answers that question! Our Pre-Designed SmugSkins are $395 and can be found at http://www.newskinmedia.com/pre-desi...mug-templates/ The only annual costs are SmugMug's. SmugMug Pro is $150/year. You need either a Pro account or a Power account for Customization to work. We do logo design and development as well. We have branding packages available as well as an hourly option which usually works best for those that are on a budget and just want something typography based. You can email me directly at melissa@newskinmedia.com for more info :)

Hi all,
I would normally email each individual company but my internet is really crapy and not opening some pages. I'm looking to have my website re-done because recently something happened I lost a good part of my CSS code. My most recent backup is over a year old (my bad), and I was thinking about re-doing it anyway. I'm wondering if the companies listed on this thread could email me a quote either via PM or Email. My photography is only on the weekends as I'm a full time photographer in the Air Force. I do weddings, portraits and special events. All the money I have to put into my photography comes from photo jobs. However I've been deployed to Afghanistan for the last year, and right before I left I had to move to a different base in a comeplely new state. As a result I'm forced to start over building a clientel and funds are VERY tight. I'm currently working on a budget of $200-$400. I would try to do the site myself again but when I get home I want to concentrate on being with my wife and daughter, not building my website. Again I'm sorry for posting this year but the internet in Afghanistan isn't the most reliable. I'd appreciate any quotes and/or help you all can provide.

Digital Teacher would like to use SmugMug
Hi Guys, and Greetings from Tasmania
Not sure where to advertise for some professional SmugMug development so will go here. Before moving into a Power Account I realise I need some tech support. I run a Hobby site that supports teachers getting into Digital content for their students. The site is www.digitalteacher.com.au The main thing I want SmugMug to do is be a repository for teachers/departments/ schools to be able to storage their images online and be able to use them in a LMS. Good code for a small clickable thumbnail to opens into a web sized image, in a new single window with no links to Facebook etc….may be a small bit of advertising for Digital Teacher. Because the working area in a LMS is so small this click to a larger detailed image will be a great addition to Online Learning. Content can then be easily developed by teaching staff with a rich multimedia environment for the students. So my SmugMug account will become an online LMS Repository for multimedia …cool as:)) So in a nut shell: 1. Replicate my site design (simple red and white design) 2. Smooth out any unnecessary code in the Copy Link widget 3. Remove any reference to SmugMug 4. the flies must be searchable for the teachers 5. Your additional ideas? Can you help? Cost? Time frame please? Cheers John Doubleday |

NEEDING WEBSITE ! Please help
So, I recently joined Smugmug. I really love it, but I've been trying to look around and see if I can get any customization help from anyone. I'm not ballin or banking yet on my business, This year I hope to book more weddings than I did last year. I decided to go fulltime with my business. My budget for this is $300. I don't want anything fancy or crazy. I just want a white website, clean and neat. With the navigation categories on the bar that I need and that's it. For the entrance of the website I would like either a slideshow of a few photos of mine, or maybe just 3 still photos before they click to Home.
If anyone can help me do this please message me. I really need to get my site up soon, because it's down, and I will have some events coming soon that need online viewing. Thank you, Alyssa |
