Homepage slideshow & control panel not working
I have two problems that I hope somebody will be able to help me with. My site is elementalaspects.smugmug.com.
I was following the instructions for how to add a custom header, navigation bar, and slideshow to my homepage and have the galleries on a different page. Got the header and navigation bar working and went to do the slideshow. I saw at the top of the instructions that the "easy way" to do this is to just use the the "Slideshow" option on the "Homepage Layout" button. So I checkmarked the slideshow, had the various options show up, checked off to use "Most Popular Photos" (I think that was the option) and saved it. The next thing that happened was that the slideshow box outline showed up but it has a little dialogue box that says "This album requires a password" and has a spot to enter a password. I entered my site password and the slideshow worked in Owner View but when I logged out and tried looking at my homepage the slideshow box shows the dialogue that asks for a password. I tried to turn the slideshow feature off by unchecking the slideshow box on the Homepage Layout button and a little message pops up on the upper left saying it's updated settings, but it doesn't really. The slideshow box is still there, can't be hidden, and won't stay unchecked - it looks like it will but then when you logout/log back in it's back. How do I either get the slideshow to work, or get it to turn off? The second question is that since I checked the slideshow box I suddenly can't access my control panel at all (when logged in). When I click on Account -> Go to Control Panel, I am immediatly logged out and end up at www.smugmug.com. I've tried this about 10 times and the same thing keeps happening. What the heck did I do? How can I fix it? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Respectfully, MaryGail

Hi Chipmunk!
I received your email. Sorry no one answered sooner. :-) The problem with your slide show, and your control panel logging you out is that you have a gallery title in the slide show that isn't valid. You either changed the gallery title, or deleted that gallery. If you fix the slide show setting, and link to a valid gallery, that should solve both problems. Lindy |
