Guest Upload Question
So my dad and I both have smugmug pro accounts. We went on a family vacation and to share images, he set up a gallery and allowed me to guest upload to it. I uploaded a bunch of images and went back in later to upload the rest, but the guest upload function does not appear to recognize some have already been uploaded and tries to upload all of the again, even though it appears that don't upload duplicates is active. Is this a bug of guest upload or I am missing something else?

This is actually how the guest upload function works by design. The duplicate handling option won't have any effect when using the guest uploader. We do that because it was designed to allow many users to upload to a single gallery, and since many digital cameras use the same file naming conventions, we don't want to prevent guests from uploading photos, just because they have the same filenames as another guest's files.

Thanks, kind of a bummer for those of us who are changing our file names to prevent duplicate entries. Seems like there should be an option for the pro setting up the gallery to toggle that "feature" on and off.

You could add a suggestion to the SmugMug feedback page.
