Tutorials

Ever find yourself wondering just how someone managed to create an image using different effects?

Here are three simple tutorials we hope will encourage you to try something new.

The Hot Seat

A lifelong interest in landscape photography has led Eyal Oren to make a study of his adopted hometown of Marblehead, MA. As you can see, his dedication is paying off!

Africa!

#1 is a really solid shot
#2 great
#3 not too fond of this effect.
#4 I really like this one.
#5 looks a little over saturated for my taste.

1 and 2, love em. 4 would be great, but eye contact appears off by a tiny bit, which is pretty distracting for such a small thing. Others not so much!

You're getting better and better, Bryan!

1 is fantastic. Some dad is going to be very proud to have that shot in a frame on his desk! I agree with Josh though: the effect on #3 doesn't work for me either.

Thanks for all the feed back folks. It is truly appreciated!

PP effects are a rather new thing to me. I'm still in the experimental phase. Nice to get opinions on what works and what doesn't.

See if you like the original any better.

Thanks again!

For #3, it's not just the effect... I think it's an unflattering pose/angle. Particularly the crease by her right armpit and the ruffles on her shirt.

Oh yeah, there's more :p

#1 - Easily my favorite of the bunch

#5 - Too processed, and too busy (I don't like the chain link fence and trees being in focus.... and the chain link fence is really bad with the tennis racket).
