Is Category Pagination Possible?
Hi there,

Is there a way to paginate the categories? For example, here is our "Clubs" category:

http://photos.sfstation.com/Clubs

Can we have 50 per page displayed? Or some kind of pagination so there are not 100's on one page?

Maybe there is some javascript magic that could split them into multiple pages?

Have you considered sub-categories? Maybe one for each Club or a sub-cat for each year?

I agreee with Allen. I think you should take advantage of Smugmug's sub-categories and break by year or club or geography or some natural division. That would also make it much easier for the viewer to find the desired galleries.

For the number you have, this isn't a total solution, but it might help some. You can also make your category page stretchy so it fills the full width of the browser window with thumbs rather than only two across. This gets a lot more on screen at any given time so the viewer can find what they want quicker.

Thanks for these - ideally it would have pagination, not more folders to click through, but these reorganization methods could slightly reduce the number of photos per page...

Smugmug doesn't do pagination sothat isn't really an option. Pagination is more pages to click through too, but it doesn't offer the viewer any idea which page their gallery might be on whereas subcategories could let them zero in on the right page more quickly.
