I like to go through my new albums of my kids and "copy" the best photos to another album, i don't see the collect option any more...i presume organize moves files if i drag them. Plus the thumbnails are tiny and i don't know which are the best pictures in that view.

Seems odd that it's not available in the organize screen which is where it would be of most use...

It's going to be easier to start doing this locally and uploading duplicates unfortunately...for both Smugmug and us

I just hit the download link on each photo and then re-uploaded a new copy to the gallery I wanted it in. Thank god for high speed Internet but I'll bet I'm going to use a lot more space than I did before...

What a royal pain. I have literally thousands of these. As if I'm going to be collecting them again, one by one!!!! Oh my gosh, I feel sick.

The old ones should be there, it's just creating new ones that are the issue (i think)...at least my old virtual albums are still there.

FYI: Be aware of this serious bug if you use the collection feature in the new smugmug site: http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=236688

I saw this. It's completely and totally un-acceptable. I cannot believe that these relatively new features that they rolled out with such fanfare are now beaten & broken by the new stuff. It's a little like purposely running over your own foot with a semi.

All the more serious if you see the thread I just posted. If you browse someone elses galleries and click a photo to view in the lightbox (while you are logged into your account), there is an option to "collect" their photo in your gallery. If I were to collect that photo and then delete it from my gallery, wouldn't it delete the original from their gallery?

Yeah, that is truly frightening! I pray this is fixed within hours at least. Very bad form. I knew there would be glitches like this, but honestly I didn't really expect it to involve totally losing photos without trying.

Has there been any official comments on collecting and deleting of originals?
