Using latest LR plugin...

I changed the capture date in the metadata on some photos (to attempt to sync up multiple cameras), then re-uploaded them to SM. The new capture date is not showing on SM. I tried republishing them several times - still no change.

    Hi Jasonscottphoto,

Please make sure you are seeing the most current data by clearing your cache and cookies. You may also want to try to upload these new images and remove the old ones if you are not seeing a change if you are using the replace photo tool. Without more details it is hard to guess at what is occurring in this case. If you need more help, please shoot an email to the help desk with links to the images, the new and old details and any other pertinent information.

    Thanks -Scott

I had a similar problem that I raised directly to the help desk. David Parry, the Hero who does the Lightroom Plug-in, confirmed that EXIF/IPTC metadata is not refreshed when a photo is republished. Doing to is under discussion but David pointed out to me in a very cogent e-mail exchange that there are cases where that wouldn't be desirable. To refresh the EXIF/IPTC data right now, you need to delete the photo and re-upload. Care to weigh in David?

That seems odd; I mean, isn't the addition or change to EXIF/IPTC data one of the main reasons for republishing? It would be in my case... for instance, I have several months worth of photos in which the date was showing as 00/00/0000 after a camera repair & I didn't catch this, so when I've got LR more 'figured out", I'd hoped to republish all of these, as they can be problematic in certain date-sensitive situations. Surely the reasons for refreshing that info would far outweigh the reasons not to... or is there some way it can be an option?
