Getting rid of customization for specific pages
I would like to get "rid" of all my customization (except for header) on certain pages. For example, I'd like to try out some themes on certain pages. But the way that I have my CSS set up right now means that I don't get the "full effect" of the theme if I select it for a given gallery. In other words, my customization will "override" the theme.
Is there a way around this? I'd like to keep my customization on the majority of my galleries, but there are a few (namely, the wedding galleries) that I'd perhaps like to use the theme on. What I'd really like to do is get rid of the "site wrapper" elements that cover up the "wedding theme" background. If I select "smugmug" instead of "custom" in the "customize gallery" page, I end up losing my customized header and there are a bunch of links at the bottom that I don't want. Example: http://viewingbooth.smugmug.com/gallery/1588303 Example: http://viewingbooth.smugmug.com/gallery/493743 Thanks in advance |

Maybe.
What I want to be able to do is use the preset smugmug themes for certain galleries. When I apply the built-in themes, however, remants of my customization are still there, so I don't get the full effect of the built-in themes. I could get around this, of course, by chaning the "appearence" in the customize gallery feature to "smugmug" instead of "custom." But then I lose my header, which I would like to preserve. So, if I understand you correctly, creating a new theme with just the elements that I want wouldn't necessaritly help because I want to be able to use the built-in themes (with minor tweaks), not a custom one. I still don't quite have it. When I click on "Themes" in my control panel, I just get a blank form for me to create a new theme and "submit" it. But I have no idea what the CSS for the various built-in themes are.
Is there some way I can copy/paste the CSS code from the built-in themes? I know that I can view the source on a page that has the theme applied to it. But I have a lot of trouble figuring out where the "css" portion of the source starts, versus what is just normal html to make the page actually work. Sorry, but I'm still confused. -D Last edited by dbooth80; Aug-30-2006 at 06:40 PM. |

,If you have custom CSS, what you can do, is copy ALL of your custom CSS. Create a new theme, and paste it all in that theme. Now, if you apply that theme to all your pages, they will not have changed, however, it allows you to select a different theme for certain pages, and see the theme, without the effect of your custom CSS. I hope this helps. |
