Shopping Cart / View Cart Customization
Let me start with a short story. About three years ago I was a SmugMug customer. However, I dropped the service because I felt that I could not customize the galleries to the point that would allow me to brand my SmugMug site adequately to match my regular Web site. Today I returned to discover that SmugMug's development team had done tons of work over the intervening years. In fact, there were so many enhancements that in under an hour I was able to my gallery about 90% of the way to where I'd like them to be in order to match my current Web site brand.

However, I reached the point where I started looking around to try and discover how I could apply the CSS styles I'd created to the view cart / shopping cart / checkout process screens. I was extremely disappointed to discover that, according to a few posts on this board, that CCS styling of those screens isn't currently possible. In another thread, a claim was made that customization is not allowed due to security concerns. Although I think it would be enlightening to hear specifics in regards to that claim, what I would really like to know is what is the SmugMug development team's plan and ETA to provide functionality that will allow for customization of the cart and checkout screens?

I'm very concerned that when one of my clients transitions from viewing and adding photos to their cart from one of my galleries and then makes the transition to the checkout process, the visual effect will be quite jarring. In this case, my background color is white and basic while the screens in the checkout process are black and relatively busy. More importantly however, the checkout pages aren't branded in any way. This means that the customers are not visually keyed into the fact that they are still on the same site. Specifically, a major component of my brand, my logo, isn't present on this screen. Additionally, I have no way to change the background colors. At the very least, I wish some of this kind of customization functionality should be considered—at least as an interim solution before you allow provide for full customization of those pages.

I look forward to your response.

Yes, we currently don't allow any user customization in the cart checkout screen, I'm sorry. And yes, it's because it's a secure page on our site.

That said, we're exploring ways to possibly allow mild branding in the cart -but we have no promise on the feature or a timeframe. I wish I had a better answer for you on that!

Has the ability to mildly modify or cobrand the cart been added?

In the shopping cart, I would like to remove most of the footer. Links in the footer like login, wiki, news, about us, communities, are confusing to a customer and not related to their shopping experience.

In the shopping cart header, I think the following is more clear to a customer:

Photographs by <Photographers Name or Logo>, Printing by <SmugMug or SM Logo>

Integration with Paypal?
Hi everyone, I'm just thinking if smugmug will allow us to receive paypal payment on services that we are offering and how are we going to do to customize it on a specific gallery page? For example in this gallery http://studioworkplus.smugmug.com/ga...14_B9bW4/Large.

Thank you and more power to SM heroes.

Have there been any developments concerning customizing the shopping cart? I've done some searches to no avail. I almost feel like the checkout process is somewhat of a buzz kill after being on the site.

The only change that I'm aware of is the ability to add some branding in the cart. See help page at http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93350.

Who knows why there is still SmugMugPro logo present after I added my branding logo in the shopping cart area?

As far as I know it is not currently possible to remove the SmugMug logo from the cart. It's a smug cart, and there could be items from more than one pro in the cart.

strange... than this thing "You've probably admired many of the web's most beautiful photography sites without knowing they were powered by SmugMug." from the SmugmugPro Branding page sounds like a false advertisement.

I thought this was a reasonable answer until I remembered that there is the option to shop from one gallery exclusively. It's the option that also displays whatever image you've chosen for shopping cart branding.

I'm not a professional photographer, but I am aesthetically picky. I'd really like to change the background of the exclusive gallery shopping cart because I'd like it to blend with my branding logo.
