Here are three simple tutorials we hope will encourage you to try something new.

The Hot Seat

A lifelong interest in landscape photography has led Eyal Oren to make a study of his adopted hometown of Marblehead, MA. As you can see, his dedication is paying off!

Cletus, I really like that first one. I was leafing through a book the other day about shooting after dark... and your second image matches what the book had. Nice job, sir.

So, I went over to the Southern Museum of Flight to take a picture of the SR71 and all of a sudden there were these flying saucers. I immediately thought of circles.

Thanks Rutt. The whole display was even cooler but this was a good circle.

Accidental Circles
One porblem with this assignment is that it's all too easy to end up with circles without really meaning to. THere are so many circles.

I wan't thinking about circles at all when I took this:

I did mean to take this. I don't think it's nearly as interesting as the unintended circles:

My first submission since installing Gentoo. I think you guys might be blown away with the new tools (or the new look at least? I need to get back to my research once I've got the OS better situated) I'm finding in GIMP (specifically, new dialog boxes opening up with this emerge of the GIMP prior to the latest - unstable, IIRC - GIMP upgrade; specifically "Layers, Channels, Paths" all in one box). In any event, I took these last weekend, and may be hitting the glassy orbs later this week.. so much to do, so much to do. This was taken with the 0.3 neutral density filter, shutter speed of 1/1000, can't recollect my aperture-f/stop setting. (I'm so bad about this sort of thing..)

Oh yeah! I used the STARSIX filter for this one, too! Sheesh.

And another angle, this one only needed a bit of despeckle and resizing.
