Shop View Product Images

Whilst I welcome the latest improvements with Shop View the one thing that continues to bug me is the use of product images in say Wall Art and Desk Art in my case, but presumably other products as well, that do not bear any resemblance to the photography genre that is in use on the site. I am seeing family-related images when I am a landscape photographer. Very confusing for customers to say the least. This problem is not solely an SM issue as I have come across the same problem on other photo hosting sites. Even your demonstration video in SM Blog shows the problem - main images landscapes - products family
I assume that this is something that can't be resolved easily but is it not possible to allow users such as myself the ability to show their own images against the products? I am certain this will help even further in improving sales opportunities.
Many thanks

There are 2 leading thoughts (although I'll caveat that and say they're just thoughts right now):
1) Allow you to select which type of photographer you are, which will then tailor the imagery to your genre
2) Replace those images with your actual photos (this is the preferred path forward).
As we work on prioritizing improvements to the shopping experience we continue to update our research. Our findings continue to show that the type of photo used in the categories has not diminished your clients probability of making a purchase. As a result we've kept our attention on other items that will help you sell more (like adding the "Shop View" option, adding holiday greeting cards, getting rid of the "Buy Menu" and turning the Buy Button into a 1 click entry into the store, etc).
Thanks for your feedback. Keep it coming!

Thanks, Aaron for your prompt reply. Great that at least the problem is on the radar. I think my preference would also have to be 2 but in saying that I assume it would just not be my image on its own but would in some way be displayed in the appropriate product.
If 1 is an easier solution I would be quite happy to have that in the short term rather than what there is now.
I can't comment on the sales effect but I just feel it is an anomaly that should not be there.
Your improvements in the shopping experience are certainly welcome even though we don't get holiday greeting cards here in the UK.
Any help you can provide in moving this up the priority list would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks

Thanks very much Mick. I am not clear what you are saying. Have you an example? Are you saying that the code will not allow you to change the Shopping View?

Here’s an example that used to work:
/*** code to change the background image for WALL ART section in the shopping
cart ***/
.sm-user-ui .sm-addtocart-step-categories .sm-catalog-category-wall-art {
background-image: url('hxxx://photos.smugmug.com/Admin/YOUR IMAGE.jpg');
}
Right OK, thanks. I had looked at your site(nice job by the way) and see that it is showing the family images rather than yours - presumably because you have the Shop View turned on. I assume if you switch off then your code should still work?

Thank you (on the website)
I tried switching the Shopping View off ... and I get the same layout and images, sadly
Ok thanks for taking a look
